FROM W.O.A.T ON QPR WIN OVER CHELSEA :

GAFFER: GREATEST DAY OF MY CAREER
Posted on: Sun 23 Oct 2011

Neil Warnock hailed the R's 1-0 victory against Chelsea as the 'greatest day' of his managerial career.

Heidar Helguson's first half spot-kick gave Rangers the all-important derby day victory, on an afternoon when Jose Bosingwa and Didier Drogba saw red for the victors.

Speaking exclusively to www.qpr.co.uk, Warnock said: "We stressed before the game that this was no ordinary match.

"We all know that Chelsea are a great side but this was a derby.

"We had to start the game well and get about them and I thought we did.

"I thought we deserved the goal when it came.

"They're a great side, even with nine men. But we had some great opportunities to kill the game off.

"Unfortunately we lacked the quality with our decision making at times.

"Apart from the free header for Nicolas Anelka, defensively I thought we did very well.

"Eighteen months ago when we came here, I said to Amit Bhatia that it will be for days like today.

"I've been involved in some derbies, but this was something else.

"We had a plan all week and we worked hard in training.

"We did our best to go forward when we could and I'm just so proud of the players tonight.

"This is the greatest day of my managerial career.
